Adult Matric preparation
Write your matric in June 2027.
We are a preparation programme for the Amended Senior Certificate. You get the full subject content, a study structure, and a work plan built backwards from that exact sitting. You register with the Department of Basic Education yourself, and you write at a DBE centre.
No registration fee. No payment upfront. Pause any time.
DBE registration for the June 2027 sitting closes in early February. Every month you wait is a month of preparation you do not get back.
Apply NowHow it works
We prepare you. You register and you write.
Being clear about the split is the point. It is what makes the price make sense, and it means nothing surprises you in February.
What we do
- Every topic in your subjects, built for studying on your own.
- A work plan dated to the sitting you have chosen.
- Assessments with feedback, so you know whether you are ready.
- Subject specialists and a support coach when you get stuck.
What you do
- Register for the exam with the DBE. Registration is free.
- Write your papers at a DBE exam centre in May and June.
- Put in around 20 hours a week, in the hours that suit you.
- Tell us when life gets in the way, so we can move the plan.
Your certificate is issued by the Department of Basic Education. We are the preparation, not the examiner.
Choose by subjects
Pay for the subjects you are actually writing.
Most adults finish matric over two or three sittings, two or three subjects at a time. You do not have to take all six at once, and you should not pay as though you are.
1 subject
Finish or upgrade the one that is outstanding.

Being straight with you
The qualification itself is free. Here is what you are paying us for.
The Department's Second Chance programme will get you the same certificate at no cost, and if you can study alone with the material it gives you, you should use it.
What it does not give you is a plan for your week, content written for someone studying at night after work, or anyone who notices when you go quiet. That is the whole of what this subscription buys.
Structure
A dated work plan that tells you what to do this week, not a library to make sense of on your own.
Content built for self study
Written and recorded for adults studying alone, not lecture notes from a classroom you are not in.
Someone who notices
Assessments tell you where you stand, and a support coach picks it up when you fall behind the plan.
Before you sign up
What you will need to make this work.
We would rather you know this now than three months in. The tuition is not the only cost of studying online.
A laptop
With a webcam, for assessments and support sessions.
10 Mbps or better
Enough to stream a lesson without it stopping on you.
Backup power
A UPS or a charged device for when the power goes.
About 20 hours a week
Less than that and one sitting becomes two. That is allowed.
If things change
Life happens. The subscription bends.
Pause it
Taking a break after you have written? Pause in the portal and pick it up in October when registration opens again.
Change your bundle
Five subjects turning out to be too much? Drop to three yourself, in the portal. You do not have to cancel to slow down.
How payment works
We collect by card on the same date each month, the date you started. If a payment does not clear, access pauses after seven days and returns as soon as it does.
FAQs
Questions adults ask us first
Do you register me for the exam?
No. You register for the Amended Senior Certificate exam with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) yourself, and registration is free. Registration for the May and June sitting runs from October to early February. We tell you what you need and when, and you write your papers at a DBE exam centre near you.
Is this a UCT qualification?
No. Your Amended Senior Certificate is issued by the Department of Basic Education. We are the preparation, not the examiner: you get the full subject content, a work plan dated to your sitting, assessments with feedback, and subject specialists and a support coach when you get stuck.
How much does Adult Matric cost?
You pay for the subjects you are writing. One subject is R479 per month, 2 to 3 subjects are R649 per month (from R216 a subject) and 4 to 6 subjects are R899 per month (from R150 a subject). There is no registration or placement fee, and you pay only for the months you are studying.
How does payment work?
We collect by card on the same date each month, the date you started. There is no payment upfront. If a payment does not clear, access pauses after seven days and returns as soon as it does.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes. You pause the subscription yourself in the portal. If you are taking a break after you have written, pause it and pick it up in October when registration opens again. You can also cancel whenever you want.
What happens to my progress if I pause?
Pausing keeps your place. Your progress, completed modules and assessment history are saved, so when you resume you pick up exactly where you left off rather than starting over.
Can I change how many subjects I am taking?
Yes. You move up or down a bundle yourself in the portal. If five subjects turn out to be too much, drop to three. You do not have to cancel to slow down.
Who is the Adult Matric programme for?
It is for adults who were unable to write matric earlier in life, or who want to pass subjects they previously did not. Learners must be 21 or older at the time of writing the ASC exams and have completed Grade 9 or a recognised equivalent.
